The School Scholarships program at San Adolfo School is aimed at providing comprehensive education to 170 children in an area of social vulnerability. The school is located in El Dorado, a suburban area of ??the Canelones department where most people live precariously and in poverty. The institution has a team of teachers with a high level of commitment and sensitivity, working together with families to achieve better development for the children. The project is managed by a team of professionals backed by the Fe y Alegría movement, which identified the institution as a school with potential and added it to their network of schools.
This project grants scholarships to children of families living precariously in El Dorado and who value the education that their children can access at the institution. The population of the area is young and birth rates are high. Most parents of students do not have formal or stable jobs and only 8% of them have completed high school. In 2011 Reaching U funded 47 scholarships for children in these circumstances. |
