| The institution |
The Los Tréboles education center provides educational support and social support to children and adolescents in the Flor de Marońas area in Montevideo. Its aim is to help build their education and thus improve their chances in the future. The Center opened its doors in 2009 in response to the needs of local people, and now 65 children attend each day to receive tutoring, snacks and play sports.
Los Tréboles also intends to develop the full potential of each child, teaching them the values of coexistence and respect, and ensuring that they develop healthy habits.
Los Tréboles has a multidisciplinary team consisting of director, teachers, educators, social workers, psychologists and volunteers working in different areas (reading workshop, creativity workshop, rugby and hockey classes, homework and recreation).
Since its inception, the Center has achieved the support of families in the area for its proposal and children have improved their school attendance, which directly impacts on their academic performance. |

| The project |
At Los Tréboles the children find an ideal space to do homework, consolidate the knowledge acquired at school and overcome their learning difficulties. Reaching U collaborates with this project by funding a community teacher who works with each family, promoting the family organization and providing the right stimulus to improve the schooling process.
In addition, Reaching U funds the support from a psychomotor teacher and basic psychomotor skills room equipment to promote early learning. This allows the specific support and the stimuli necessary for the motor development of children at an early age.
In addition to tutoring, the children attend craft, music, theater, dance and garden workshops helping to develop the skills of the protagonists of this institution. The educational project is complete with computer and English courses, which are valuable tools for future employability. |
