Reaching
U is a non-profit organization located in the United
States, which works for low-income mothers and children
in Uruguay. Since its creation in 2001, Reaching U has
been distinguished by its professional approach to management,
its transparency, and the support and hard work of a
large number of people who want to give back to Uruguay
some of the opportunities, experiences, and resources
to which they have access in the United States.
Reaching
U has formal working groups in New York, Miami, and
Montevideo, as well as members and volunteers working
and sending their support from many other US cities.
The chief objective of the US teams is to raise money
through events, and run specific fundraisers. But it
is the Reaching U members that the organization relies
on to continue its activities, and the sponsors who
consistently support its projects. A number of contributors
have also funded specific projects. Reaching U is always
looking for new members, volunteers, and collaborators
so that it can help more women and children in Uruguay.
Thanks to everyone's support, in less than four years
Reaching U has invested about US$ 350,000 in various
Uruguayan organizations.
